Summary

In "Casper" for the Super NES, you glide through a spooky mansion as the friendly ghost, slipping through walls and barriers that would stop a living hero. The twist is that Casper can temporarily become everyday objects—picked up as special power‑ups—allowing you to smash foes or shield the timid Kat Harvey from hazards. Mirrors scattered throughout the halls act as secret doorways, shuffling you and Kat to new rooms and sometimes bypassing treacherous sections altogether. The final toy collection even requires grabbing an electric‑bolt morph from overhead lines, a quirky nod to the movie’s climax. The game runs on a tweaked version of the "A Boy and His Blob" engine, giving it fluid movement and quirky puzzle‑platform mechanics that keep the haunted adventure feeling fresh while staying true to the movie’s spirit.

Storyline

Casper on the SNES loosely follows the movie’s story. You play as the friendly ghost, wandering the haunted mansion while Kat Harvey trails behind you. Your job is to keep Kat safe from any supernatural threats that appear. If Casper drifts too far from her, the vengeful spirit Carrigan will swoop in and kidnap her, forcing you to rescue her quickly. The game’s simple premise centers on protecting Kat and staying close to avoid Carrigan’s grasp.
