Summary

Carrier Aces drops you into a split‑screen World War II sky where every match is a one‑on‑one showdown. You can pick either an American or Japanese pilot and launch from an aircraft carrier, then decide which plane to bring into the fray—each aircraft comes with its own speed, armament and handling quirks. The missions blend classic dogfighting with ship‑targeting tasks: you’ll loop, dive, and strafe enemy vessels, drop bombs or torpedoes, and even attempt the tricky carrier landing. When the battle shifts to a ship, the second player (or AI) swaps to a turret gun, limited to left‑right aiming and fire, turning the encounter into a tense aerial‑versus‑ground duel. Progress is tracked on an area map, letting you choose your next aircraft and see how the opposing force is moving. The whole experience feels like a retro cockpit‑cocktail party, with both pilots sharing the same screen but fighting very different battles.
