Summary
Bust‑A‑Move, known in arcades as Puzzle Bobble, puts you in a bright arena with a pointer at the bottom. You fire a bubble upward; it may bounce off walls before sticking to the cluster. When three or more of the same color touch, they pop and disappear.
Each level starts with a preset pattern, and the colors you launch come from those still on the board. After a few shots the ceiling drops a notch, squeezing the field; reaching the pointer ends the game. If you idle, the next bubble fires automatically, ignoring your aim.
The SNES version earned a 39/50 from Electronic Gaming Monthly, praised for its addictive two‑player mode and solid solo challenge. Next Generation called it “addictive as hell,” while GamePro complained about repetitive stages and flat graphics. IGN later placed it at #54 in its Top 100 SNES Games.
Its simple formula sparked countless clones, from Snood to modern mobile hits like Bubble Witch Saga. Decades later the series reappears in VR and on the Switch, proving the bubble‑popping premise still pops.
