Storyline

The SNES game Asterix is set in 50 B.C., when the whole of Gaul is under Roman rule. The player controls the short, mustached Gaul Asterix, who must travel across Europe, battling Roman soldiers and hostile wildlife. His mission is to rescue his best friend Obelix, who has been captured by the Romans and taken to an unknown location before Caesar can throw him to the lions. The only village that still resists the occupation is Asterix’s home, protected by a magic potion that grants invincibility. The journey pits Asterix against countless enemies as he races to save Obelix.
