Summary
Animaniacs for the SNES lets you toggle between Yakko, Wakko and Dot as they bounce through a cartoon‑styled Warner Bros. lot. Yakko shoves boxes, Wakko smashes obstacles with his hammer and Dot flirts foes with a kiss‑blow, while the trio can stack together to reach high platforms or dash across gaps. The core goal is hunting down 24 scattered script pages hidden in movie‑parody stages, and every page you snatch tweaks the ending. Boss battles often require the right character to wield a specific object, and once the regular stages are cleared the Editing Room unlocks a boss‑rush culminating in a showdown with Pinky & the Brain. A slot‑machine at the screen’s bottom dispenses temporary invincibility, extra coins or rescued teammates, and a rescue stage pops up whenever a Warner gets captured. Critics praised the bright, true‑to‑show graphics but found the gameplay hit‑or‑miss; Total! still celebrated it as one of the most clever SNES titles.
Storyline
In the SNES version of Animaniacs, the nefarious Brain hatches a new scheme to take over the world by stealing the script of an upcoming Warner Bros. film still in development.
Reluctantly, the studio’s CEO turns to the Warner siblings—Yakko, Wakko and Dot—and tasks them with recovering all 24 pages of the missing script, making the collection of those pages the game’s main objective.
The ending changes based on how many pages the player gathers; collecting every page triggers the best outcome, where Warner Bros. finishes the movie, the CEO is delighted, and the film turns out to be about the Warner siblings themselves, much to their satisfaction.
