Summary

Albert Odyssey 2: Jashin no Taidou lands on the Super Famicom as Sunsoft’s follow‑up to the original Albert Odyssey, keeping the tactical role‑playing core that fans fell in love with.
The game sticks to the same grid‑based combat and character progression, but the graphics have been sharpened for the 16‑bit hardware, giving each unit a more distinct, colorful look.
Battle mechanics also get a boost: new terrain effects and a refined attack order make each encounter feel fresh without abandoning the familiar strategy loop.
Even though the story follows the same mythic thread, the upgraded visuals and tighter combat let the sequel stand out as a polished evolution rather than a simple rehash.

Storyline

Albert Odyssey 2 – Jashin no Taidou (often just called Albert Odyssey II) picks up a decade after the events of its predecessor. The new protagonist is Dean, a young warrior who idolizes Albert, the hero who once saved the world from a dark magician. Eager to prove himself, Dean sets out to investigate a fresh conflict and soon crosses paths with familiar faces from the original adventure. He discovers that an ancient evil god named Okutoba is stirring, threatening to plunge the world back into darkness. The game follows Dean’s journey as he steps into the role of hero, battling the looming menace and striving to protect the realm once more.
