Summary

Zillion turns the Master System into a miniature sci‑fi playground, taking cues from the 1980s anime that inspired it. The game scrolls freely across each stage, letting me wander into every hallway and ventilation shaft in search of hidden triggers. Much like the classic Impossible Mission, the key to progress lies in probing every object—computers, crates, consoles—to retrieve codes that unlock doors and deactivate security systems. The design rewards curiosity; a missed switch can mean a dead‑end, while a stray credit bonus appears for the most thorough explorers. Even after decades, the blend of platform action and puzzle‑hacking feels surprisingly fresh for a title that was originally meant as a tie‑in accessory.

Storyline

Zillion drops you into a tense sci‑fi adventure as J.J., the lone operative of the rebel force. Your mission is to slip into the underground labyrinth controlled by the Norsa Empire and steal their domination plans. Armed with the fast‑firing Zillion Laser, you must navigate twisting corridors while staying hidden from overwhelming enemy forces.

The game rewards careful strategy and memory more than sheer firepower, forcing you to solve puzzles and choose the right routes. Inside the maze you will uncover the data needed to cripple the Norsas and bring lasting peace.
