Summary

I first stumbled onto Secret Command when hunting for obscure PAL titles on the Master System. This overhead shoot‑‘em‑up is essentially a repackaged version of the Japanese Ashura and the U.S. Rambo: First Blood Part II, but with all the Rambo branding stripped away.
The game lets you control Bishamon, a character that looks just like Rambo, while a second player can jump in as Ashura, his partner. You wield an M‑60 machine gun with infinite ammo, occasional explosive arrows, and can fire in five directions while moving freely in eight. Each level ends at a flashing gate, and completing one nets you an extra life, while power‑ups pepper the Asian‑styled stages.
Released in Europe and Australia in 1986 and re‑issued as a budget title in 1990, Secret Command still feels like a solid mix of Commando and Ikari Warriors, complete with the original Ashura title music.

Storyline

In Secret Command, the heroes Bishamon and Ashura set out on a daring rescue mission after their friends are kidnapped by enemy forces. The manual identifies them by name, emphasizing their partnership as they infiltrate hostile territory.

The pair battles through enemy defenses, freeing prisoners hidden in huts along the way. They also confront heavy obstacles such as armored tanks and fortified gates, pushing ever closer to their captured allies.
