Summary

Sapo Xulé: S.O.S. Lagoa Poluida is essentially Astro Warrior wearing a new skin – an underwater setting that swaps the original’s star‑filled backdrop for a murky lagoon. Tec Toy repackaged the game for Brazil in 1996, giving local players a fresh visual twist while keeping the core gameplay intact. When the title crossed the Atlantic to Portugal, it arrived as the same retooled version, because Portuguese gamers had never seen Astro Warrior on its own; they only knew it from the Hang‑On/Astro Warrior combo cartridge. In both markets the game feels like a second debut for the same mechanics, just with fish‑like enemies and bubbles instead of alien ships.
