Summary

Rescue Mission turns the Master System into an on‑rails shoot‑’em‑up thanks to the Light Phaser. The screen scrolls along a narrow railway where a medic rides a cart, dragging injured comrades back to safety.
Your job is simple and frantic: blast the oncoming enemy soldiers before they reach the medic. Waves grow denser, and every hit keeps the cart moving forward, slowly unspooling the rescue route. The reliance on the Light Phaser makes each pull‑the‑trigger feel like a real firefight, rewarding timing more than button mashing.

Storyline

Rescue Mission puts you in the boots of a lone soldier racing against time to save comrades stranded behind hostile lines. Your squadmates have been wounded and are pinned down, so you must infiltrate the enemy territory, locate the medics and escort the injured to safety. The game’s side‑scrolling stages are littered with gunfire, mines and patrols that demand precise jumps and quick shooting. Each level ends with a tense extraction point where you must guide the rescued allies to the waiting helicopter.

The Sega Master System version relies on tight controls and a limited color palette, but the tension of the rescue shines through. Power‑ups such as first‑aid kits and temporary shields help you survive the onslaught. Success depends on mastering the timing of enemy patterns while keeping your wounded teammates alive. The result is a fast‑paced, gritty war‑themed adventure that rewards careful planning and daring action.
