Summary

Wayne's World on the Sega Genesis turns the iconic movie duo into a guitar‑wielding hero and his sidekick trapped inside a bizarre video‑game world called Zantar. As Wayne, you blast through four surreal stages—Kramer’s Music Store, a shrunken Donut Shop, the Gasworks nightclub, and a twisted version of Wayne’s old suburb—using a guitar that doubles as a weapon. Power‑ups let you crank up amps for bigger chords, add a chorus for three‑note attacks, distort the note paths, or summon a “homer” that homes in on foes, while “Schwing” icons wipe the screen clean. Enemies range from animated instruments (bagpipes that fire, saxophones, kazoos) to donut monsters, coffee cups, and even human bouncers, each demanding quick jumps and rhythmic timing. Collecting thumbs‑up icons raises an unexplained “worthiness” meter, and hearts grant extra lives. The final showdown pits you against the purple cube Zantar, letting you rescue Garth and bring the rock‑filled chaos to an end.

Storyline

In the Sega Genesis title *Wayne's World*, Wayne and Garth are unexpectedly pulled into the bizarre video game Zantar. Garth is seized by a massive purple gelatinous cube, leaving Wayne to embark on a rescue mission. He journeys through twisted, surreal versions of familiar real‑world locations, each level more oddball than the last. The adventure culminates in a showdown set in a fantasy suburb where Wayne confronts the evil Zantar itself. After a tense battle, Wayne defeats the purple menace and frees Garth, completing the game’s quirky quest to save his friend.
