Summary
In Vectorman 2, what starts as a routine sludge barge run quickly turns into a high‑stakes escape. A sudden, mysterious missile strikes the vessel, critically damaging it and forcing me, the VectorMan, to jettison the crippled ship. I plunge through the atmosphere, feeling the burn of re‑entry, before crashing into the desolate outskirts of an apparently abandoned research facility. The wreckage hints at a deeper secret hidden within those walls, setting the tone for a gritty, fast‑paced adventure. That early, cinematic twist still grabs attention, reminding me why the game’s opening remains so iconic.
Storyline
Vectorman 2 on the Sega Genesis begins with a routine sludge barge excursion that is abruptly shattered by a mysterious missile. The projectile critically damages VectorMan’s ship, forcing him to escape the blast and free‑fall back toward Earth. He crash‑lands on the outskirts of an apparently deserted research facility.
Investigating the site, VectorMan discovers a mutant strain of insects that have proliferated inside the complex. These insects are not only aggressive, they are being directed by an unseen intelligence that threatens the planet. His clear mission: eliminate the mutant insects and stop the hidden mastermind before Earth faces disaster.
