Summary
Super Sonic in Sonic 3D is a fan‑made hack of Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island that lets you become the golden blur after you’ve gathered all seven Chaos Emeralds and 50 rings. The transformation follows the rules from Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles – you have to double‑jump without a shield, just like the classic games.
When I trigger Super Sonic, the game swaps to a custom, bright palette and shows a distinct pose that fades in as the music shifts to the iconic Super Sonic theme. You keep the speed shoes, become invincible (the usual star effect appears), and rings drain continuously while you stay transformed. However, the hack isn’t a total cheat: falling platforms can still crush you, so you’re not completely untouchable.
The whole thing is built on the Sonic 3D: No Flickies version, so it inherits the same level layout and physics while layering the Super Sonic mechanics on top. It’s a neat nod to the earlier titles, letting players experience that nostalgic power‑up in a 3‑D platformer that originally never had it.
