Summary

Super Hang-On builds on the original Hang-On’s motorcycle cabinet, letting you grip a simulated bike while the screen whips past four continent‑based courses. Hitting the normal ceiling of 280 km/h flips a turbo switch, pushing the needle up to a blistering 324 km/h for that extra rush.

The four tracks each feel distinct: Africa’s six‑stage sprint is the quickest warm‑up, Asia adds a few more twists with ten stages, the Americas ramps up the challenge over fourteen, and Europe tests endurance with eighteen stages.

The Genesis port does more than copy the arcade action; it adds a sponsor‑driven career mode where you earn cash, swap in upgraded components, and lock your progress with a two‑part 14‑character password. The box art even mirrors the livery of Shinichi Itoh’s Rothmans Honda NSR500, a nod that fans of the real‑world 500 cc series will recognize.

Later, the title resurfaced on compilation cartridges like Mega Games I and the Sega Genesis Six‑Pack, giving new owners a convenient way to experience the high‑speed thrill without hunting down the original cart.
