Summary

Super Daisenryaku landed on the Sega Mega Drive in 1989 as a faithful port of SystemSoft’s 1988 PC‑88/PC‑98 war‑simulation. The Japanese release swapped the original music for a fresh score credited to Tokuhiko Uwabo, giving the battlefield a distinctly synth‑driven atmosphere. Because Sega never bothered with a worldwide launch, the game remained a Japan‑only curiosity, and it even sidestepped the console’s TMSS lock‑out – meaning it only runs on the early Model 1 Mega Drive hardware. For collectors, that quirk turns the cartridge into a hidden gem that tests both nostalgia and hardware compatibility.
