Summary

Beyond Oasis, the Western name for The Story of Thor, first appeared on the Sega Genesis in 1994 as an action‑role‑playing adventure crafted by Ancient and published by Sega. In Japan it carried the subtitle Hikari wo Tsugu Mono—literally “Heir of the Light”—while European boxes read The Story of Thor: A Successor of The Light, hinting at the game’s mythic focus. The title resurfaced years later on the Wii Virtual Console (March 19, 2007 in North America and April 5, 2007 in Europe) and found a new home in Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, ensuring that the saga of Thor’s quest for the magical staff continues to reach fresh audiences.
