Summary

Stella the Cat is a fan‑made ROM hack of the classic Sega Mega Drive title Sonic the Hedgehog. In this version the iconic blue hedgehog is swapped out for a new protagonist, Stella the Cat—also known as Stella Hoshine—who dashes through the familiar zones with her own sprite. The creator initially envisioned a deeper overhaul, planning to recolor palettes and redesign levels to give the hack a fresh visual feel. However, after laying the groundwork, the developer chose to abandon further changes, leaving the game as a straightforward character swap that still captures the original’s speed‑filled charm.
