Summary

Sonic Zoom on the Genesis isn’t just a nostalgic throw‑back; it’s a full‑blown rom‑hack that feels like a brand‑new game. The creator, the same mind behind the quirky "Sunky the Game" series, has packed it with fresh levels, eye‑catching visuals and a soundtrack that riffs on the classic Sonic vibe while adding its own twist. The hype even comes with a cheeky tagline – “Milk and Cereal? Just go play it already.” – which perfectly captures the game’s playful, slightly absurd charm. If you’re looking for a Sonic experience that respects the original’s speed but pushes the boundaries of what the Genesis can do, this is the title to dive into.

Storyline

In Sonic Zoom, the mad scientist Dr. Robotnik has managed to acquire all of the Chaos Emeralds. He uses their power to reshape South Island, littering the terrain with bottomless pits, razor‑sharp spikes, and lethal robots that are powered by innocent woodland creatures.

It falls to Sonic the Hedgehog to reclaim the Emeralds, restore the island’s original landscapes, and free the captured animals.
