Play Sonic Remastered (S1 Hack) Online

Summary

Sonic 1 Remastered is a fan‑made hack of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive, crafted by a developer known as Puto. Unlike most hacks that merely swap palettes or tweak level layouts, this version 1.1 is built in ASM and adds genuine new features, the most noticeable being a character‑select screen that lets you play as either Sonic or Tails right from the title screen. The extra content feels like an official expansion rather than a cosmetic tweak, giving the familiar stages a fresh strategic twist. A second iteration, version 2, surfaced online without Puto’s initial consent, but he later approved its upload to the community wiki, cementing its place in the retro‑hacking scene.
