Play Sonic Classics Online

Summary

Sonic Classics bundles three classic Sonic titles onto a single Genesis cartridge: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine.

The control schemes are identical to the original releases, and you pick which title you want from a simple menu. Only one game runs at a time, so you have to restart the cartridge to switch titles.

Even though Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is included, the cartridge doesn’t support the lock‑on feature that lets Sonic 2 combine with Sonic & Knuckles to become Knuckles the Echidna.
