Play Sonic Boom Online

Summary

Sonic Boom is a full‑blown overhaul of the classic Sonic 2 experience, rebuilt from the ground up by the duo snkenjoi and iojnekns. Their vision attracted a surprisingly wide roster of talented contributors, each adding their own flair to the level design, music, and gameplay tweaks. The result feels like a fresh Sonic adventure while still honoring the original’s speed‑centric DNA.

By the time the Seventh Annual Hacking Contest rolled around, the collaborative team had coalesced under the name SÆGA. This collective identity underscores the community‑driven spirit behind the mod, turning a personal project into a shared showcase of retro‑gaming craftsmanship.
