Play Sonic 2: Advanced Edit Online

Summary

Sonic 2: Advanced Edit is a fan‑made remix of the classic Genesis title, painstakingly re‑crafted by the ROM‑hacker rika_chou. Over the years the project has grown through four major releases, each iteration polishing the level design and adding fresh twists while staying true to the original’s high‑speed spirit. The most recent, fourth release, not only brings its own new stages but also tucks the entire third‑release map set in as bonus content, giving players a generous extra dose of nostalgia. I love how the edit feels like a hidden sequel, offering both familiar routes and surprising new challenges that keep the gameplay feeling fresh even after countless hours of Sonic runs.
