Play Sonic 1 Remastered v1.1 Online

Summary

Sonic 1 Remastered is a community‑crafted hack of the classic Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive, put together by the developer known as Puto. Unlike many visual‑only mods, the officially released version 1.1 dives into the game’s assembly code, adding genuine new functionality rather than just swapping palettes or tiles.

One of the most noticeable upgrades is the ability to choose between Sonic and Tails right from the title screen, letting you play the entire adventure with either character. This character‑swap isn’t a superficial skin change; it alters the gameplay experience throughout the levels, giving fans a fresh way to revisit the iconic 16‑bit platformer.
