Storyline

In Shining Force II, a shrine south of Granseal Castle sees thief Slade steal the Jewels of Light and Darkness, breaking the seal that held demon king Zeon. King Granseal falls ill after a strange attack, so Sir Astral and his apprentices—Bowie, Sarah, Chester—investigate. They find the Tower of Ancients’ door open and are attacked by Gizmos. After defeating them, the leader Gizmo flees and later possesses King Granseal. Astral exorcises the king, driving the demon away.

The minister orders troops to chase the fleeing Gizmo, which then possesses the neighboring king of Galam. Bowie’s group is captured, meets Slade in the dungeon, breaks out with his help and recovers the Jewel of Light. Returning to a Granseal under Galam siege, they find King Galam holding Princess Elis in the Ancient Tower, wrest the Jewel of Darkness, and the tower collapses.

The survivors settle on Parmecia, where the Shining Force gathers allies, solves the Jewel riddles and obtains the Force Sword. With the sword they confront Zeon and reseal the demon king.
