Summary

Rainbow Islands Extra offers a fresh twist on the classic platformer by making the "extra" mode the default setting. In this arcade‑only version, the familiar pastel‑tinted critters are swapped for foes ripped straight from Taito’s Darius shooters, while the island layouts stay untouched. Enemies and bosses appear in a reshuffled order, and each boss gains new attack patterns that crank up the difficulty. Players can still select the original Rainbow Islands stage set if they prefer the nostalgic look.
