The Genesis port reproduces the arcade’s graphics and music using the console’s hardware, though a few sound and visual details were trimmed to fit the system. Storyline

Raiden Trad (officially Raiden Densetsu ~ Raiden Trad) is set in the year 2090, when an alien race called the Crystals launches a full‑scale invasion of Earth. The Crystals quickly seize control of the majority of the planet’s military hardware, leaving humanity defenseless. In response, the global defense coalition Vanquish Crystal Defense (VCD) engineers a new weapon: the Fighting Thunder attack craft, which incorporates advanced Crystal technology. The VCD then assigns elite Fighting Thunder pilots to the craft, positioning them as the world’s last hope to repel the alien onslaught and reclaim the planet.
