Summary
Puzzle & Action: Ichidant‑R (often called just Ichidant‑R) continues the fast‑paced mini‑game formula of its predecessor but swaps the crime‑scene setting for a medieval theatre world. Players guide the detective‑knights through four rounds of about twenty quick challenges that test timing, memorisation and quick decisions, with occasional “Lucky!” games that hand out an extra life and a balloon‑pop bonus stage at the end of each round.
The Mega‑Drive port added a free practice mode and a new RPG‑style quest where a kidnapped princess forces you to chase Philosopher’s Stones. Although the arcade and console releases stayed in Japan, English‑language voices were provided for the home versions, and the game later resurfaced on Sega Ages compilations for Saturn and PS 2, as well as the Wii Virtual Console.
Storyline
Puzzle & Action: Ichidant‑R drops you back into the world of the original detectives, but this time they appear as knights on a medieval theatre stage. The game’s quirky premise frames the action as a live‑action play, letting the familiar sleuths reprise their roles in a flamboyant, period‑flavored setting.
In RPG‑style quest mode, the plot thickens when a princess is kidnapped. Players must guide the knight‑detectives on a journey across varied stages, gathering the legendary Philosopher’s Stones. Each stone brings the party closer to unlocking the final rescue and restoring peace to the kingdom.
