Summary

New 3D Golf Simulation: Waialae no Kiseki brings the lush fairways of Honolulu’s Waialae Country Club to the Sega Mega Drive, even though it never left Japan. The game treats each swing like a mini‑puzzle, splitting power and contact into two separate timing phases; you first lock in yardage on a cycling gauge, then hit a second button to decide where on the ball you strike, adding spin, hook or slice. A standout feature is the ability to tweak your stance for a draw or fade, letting skilled players shape shots around doglegs and bunkers just like on a real course. When you reach the green, a contour grid flashes over the putting surface, forcing you to memorize slopes before the putt disappears, which adds a mental‑visual twist to the usual tap‑and‑roll. Though the Mega Drive version arrived late in the console’s life, it mirrors the PC‑98 original’s depth and even feels familiar to anyone who has played Pebble Beach Golf Links, offering tournament, stroke, match and practice modes for up to four alternating players.
