Summary

NBA Action '94 marked the debut of Sega’s NBA Action series on the Mega Drive, introducing console basketball fans to a fresh take on the sport. I’m always struck by how the game managed to capture the fast‑break excitement of the NBA while still feeling approachable for newcomers. Its roster of real‑life players and crisp, sprite‑based graphics gave the early ’90s a genuine court‑side vibe, setting a solid foundation for the sequels that followed. Even today, the title feels like a nostalgic snapshot of a time when Sega was carving out its own basketball identity, and it still holds a quirky charm for anyone who digs retro sports titles.
