Summary

Mystical Fighter (originally Maō Renjishi) feels like a love‑letter to classic beat‑'em‑ups, but with a few quirks that keep it fresh. You control a kabuki performer who can chain combos, flips and swings, yet the real spice comes from the scroll‑based magic system – the more scrolls you collect, the stronger the spell, and using it empties your stash in one dramatic burst. Each stage is a frantic sprint against a forty‑second timer, so you’re constantly weighing whether to press forward or hunt down that extra scroll for a game‑changing attack. Hidden bonus rooms lurk behind certain doors, rewarding the curious with extra scrolls, health refills and weapons, while the environment itself is a double‑edged sword: traps and pits can swallow enemies as easily as they can swallow you, sometimes turning a hazard into a handy shortcut. Oddly enough, the boss encounters tend to be less brutal than the regular mobs, giving you a brief breather before the next timed onslaught.
