Summary

Kunio no Nekketsu School Fighters, known to Western fans as River City Fighters, lives on a quirky new platform: a home‑brew 1‑v one fighting game for the Sega Mega Drive. Inspired by the beat‑‘em‑up spirit of River City Girls, a dedicated fan team stripped the original brawler down to its core characters and re‑imagined them as combatants in a classic arcade‑style duel. The result is a fast‑paced, pixel‑perfect showdown where familiar faces trade punches, kicks and special moves on a single screen, preserving the series’ humor and over‑the‑top action. Though unofficial, the project showcases how the Genesis community can breathe fresh life into a beloved franchise.
