Summary
Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl turns the gridiron into a medieval melee. You control the captain of a five‑man team, hauling a football past hazards like pits, bushes and logs while dodging or wielding axes, maces, spears and swords that appear as “concealed weapons” at the top of the screen. A successful tackle becomes a grapple where multiple players can jump in, and stacking weapons on a grapple dramatically boosts the odds of keeping possession.
If the score gap widens in the second half the game throws in a tough computer troll that can’t be killed and will keep the losing side alive, and a “Troll Bowl” pits you against an entire troll squad. The controls include short and long passes, a punch, and a strategy button that toggles tactics like Block, Scatter or Bad Attitude. Glanville’s voice samples pepper the matches, and a hidden sound test reveals the quirky soundtrack behind the chaos.
Storyline
In Jerry Glanville's Pigskin Footbrawl (often just called Pigskin Footbrawl), the pre‑match briefing sets the stage with two renegade bands of players. The blue‑clad squad is commanded by the fierce Thor Akenbak, while the red team follows the ruthless captain Atilla DeSoil. These rival leaders give the game a gritty, underground vibe before the chaotic football action begins.
