Summary

FIFA International Soccer drops you into an isometric pitch where you can steer any of the eleven players on the field, swapping control on the fly. Up to four friends can join the fray, each handling a single footballer on the same or opposing sides, while the computer fills the rest of the roster.

The game offers four distinct ways to play: a quick Exhibition, a World‑Cup‑style Tournament with group and knockout stages, a pure knockout Playoffs, and a double‑round‑robin League featuring eight teams. With 48 national squads plus an EA All‑Stars side, each roster is populated by twenty fictional athletes, giving the feeling of a global showdown despite the limited data.

Critics praised the fluid animation of the players and the lively crowd ambience, though they noted the game’s slower pace and occasional input lag. It became a UK bestseller, moving half a million copies in its first month, later resurfacing as a bonus in FIFA 06 (often called FIFA 94).
