Summary

Doctor Robotnik's Plan B (often just called Plan B) is a fan‑made hack that swaps out Sonic 1’s classic zones for a pure boss‑rush experience. Seven brand‑new boss encounters replace the usual levels, each wielding the original zone’s signature weapon, and the once‑boss‑less Scrambled Zone finally gets its own showdown.

The hack offers two play styles: Normal mode, which gives you five lives and a traditional Game Over reset, and Time Attack, which grants infinite lives and no Game Over at all. Both modes feed into a Best Times menu that records your fastest runs, but only when you’re in Time Attack or using the Level Select shortcut.

After you clear the game, a revamped ending becomes available, and you can even select it directly from the Main Menu. The Level Select lets you jump straight into any boss in Time Attack, returning you to the SEGA splash screen after each result. The title screen has been tweaked, and all credits appear in‑game.
