Summary

Crüe Ball – Heavy Metal Pinball drops you straight into a backstage‑style pinball concert, complete with a screaming crowd and a neon‑lit arena that feels like a 90s metal festival. The game originally started life as "Twisted Flipper" and even flirted with the name Headbangers Ball before the Mötley Crüe license was slapped on late in development, giving it that unmistakable glam‑metal swagger. The soundtrack is the real star, looping three classic Mötley Crüe tracks—"Dr. Feelgood," "Live Wire" and "Home Sweet Home"—and the sound design earned the Sega Seal of Quality Award for Best Sound at CES. Designer Mark Sprenger and composer Brian L. Schmidt, both veterans of other pinball titles, packed the tables with nine volume‑level ramps, skill‑shot combos and a cameo from the band’s fictional mascot Alister Fiend. Critics gave Crue Ball solid marks, with GamePro handing it a perfect score and Mean Machines noting its realistic ball inertia, even if the variety fell short of Dragon’s Fury. The blend of heavy‑metal hype and pinball physics still makes it a standout for anyone who loves a good riff and a flashing scoreboard.
