Storyline

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is a side‑scrolling platformer where Mickey ventures into Mizrabel’s Castle of Illusion to rescue Minnie. The witch Mizrabel has kidnapped Minnie in a plot to steal her youth and beauty, and Mickey learns from the castle’s true owner, the king, that he must recover the Seven Gems of the Rainbow to defeat her. Each gem is hidden in illusion‑filled worlds that serve as the game’s levels, and they are guarded by the Masters of Illusion and Mizrabel’s bizarre army of enchanted mushrooms, toy soldiers, juggling and unicycle‑riding clowns, spiders, and armored knights. After thanking the castellan, Mickey chooses among five doors that lead to The Enchanted Forest, Toyland, The Storm, the Dessert Factory, The Library, and finally the heart of the Castle itself. Collecting the seven gems from the fantastic chambers and underground mazes allows Mickey to confront Mizrabel and save Minnie.
