Play Castle of Illusion - Fushigi no Oshiro Daibouken Online
Game Info
Summary
Castle of Illusion lets you feel the joy of a classic platformer while Mickey’s signature bounce turns every jump into a tactical move. You can hurl apples or marbles at the quirky enemies that pop up, and each collected item not only boosts your score but also adds a little extra life or a safety net of extra tries.
Every stage ends with a showdown against a Master of Illusion, rewarding you with a sparkling gem; the final two levels even drop a gem halfway through, opening the path to Mizrabel’s tower. For newcomers, an easy mode trims the first three levels and skips the bosses, giving a gentler taste of the adventure.
Critics were effusive when the game launched, handing it scores in the mid‑90s percent range for graphics, sound, and smooth animation. The title resurfaced on the Sega Genesis Mini in 2019, proving that Mickey’s enchanted castle still casts a spell on modern players.
Storyline
Castle of Illusion (Fushigi no Oshiro Daibouken) is a side‑scrolling platformer where Mickey Mouse ventures into the titular castle to rescue Minnie from the wicked witch Mizrabel. After encountering the castle’s true owner, the king, Mickey learns he must gather the Seven Gems of the Rainbow hidden throughout illusion‑filled worlds. The gems are guarded by Mizrabel’s Masters of Illusion and a host of strange foes, including enchanted mushrooms, toy soldiers, juggling clowns, spiders, and armored knights. Mickey opens five doors that lead to the Enchanted Forest, Toyland, The Storm, Dessert Factory, and The Library before reaching the final Castle chamber. There he confronts Mizrabel and frees Minnie, completing his quest.
