Summary

Warrior of Rome, known in Japan as Caesar no Yabou, is a surprisingly deep real‑time strategy title that landed on the Sega Genesis. Micronet handled both development and publishing, and the game even spawned a sequel, Warrior of Rome II, which kept the same tactical flavor.

The campaign is split across four distinct maps, starting in Crete and moving toward Egypt, each presented on a “Section Map” where you direct every individual unit. For each squad you can pick from six commands – tweaking approach speed, ordering a retreat to let troops recover, laying traps, and more – giving you granular control over the battlefield.

When opposing forces meet, the view flips to a side‑shot Battle Screen that dramatizes the clash in real time. After each stage you can either save your progress or jot down a password, ensuring you can pick up the conquest later without losing any hard‑won momentum.

Storyline

Caesar no Yabou, the Sega Genesis title, presents a fictional tale of Julius Caesar’s adventures as a Roman general. The narrative follows Caesar and his legionnaires on a series of campaigns set in the year 48 BCE. Players experience the legendary leader’s strategic exploits during this turbulent period.

The story is rooted in Caesar’s reign as a commander, portraying his army’s exploits across imagined battlefields. While the events are dramatized, the setting stays true to the historical year of 48 BCE. The game’s focus remains on the epic scope of Caesar’s military ambitions.
