Play Beethoven's 2nd: The Quest for Pups Online

Summary

Beethoven's 2nd: The Quest for Pups is a curious footnote in the 90s console era—a fully built action title for the Sega Mega Drive that never saw a commercial launch. While a separate Beethoven’s 2nd game made its way onto the Super NES, the Mega Drive version was showcased at Winter CES 1993, hinting at a planned release that ultimately vanished. Decades later, the hidden prototype resurfaced when the preservation group Hidden Palace dropped it online on January 1, 2022, giving fans a chance to finally explore the unreleased code. The game’s existence offers a rare glimpse into how licensed movie adaptations were handled on Sega’s flagship hardware, and it now lives on as a collectible digital artifact for retro enthusiasts.
