Summary

MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head: The Game lands on the Genesis as one of three 1994 tie‑ins that tried to bottle the show’s chaotic vibe. The Radical Entertainment build sticks closely to the cartoon’s aesthetic, letting you wander from the duo’s cluttered bedroom out to spots like Turbo Mall 2000, a greasy Burger World, a creepy hospital, and even a raucous GWAR concert. The visual style feels like a pixel‑perfect TV episode, and the controls are tight enough to satisfy anyone who can keep up with the characters’ manic thumb‑flicking.

Critics were split: GamePro praised the responsive controls and faithful look but warned that the game demands a lot of trial‑and‑error patience to solve its obscure puzzles. Electronic Gaming Monthly suggested that only true fans would enjoy the experience, while Next Generation dismissed it as a stinky translation of the show’s flatulent humor into a game. The result is a quirky, location‑hopping adventure that feels like a love‑letter to the series, even if it doesn’t win over newcomers.

Storyline

Beavis and Butt-Head, the Sega Genesis game based on MTV’s animated series, drops players into the town of Highland as the two slackers hunt for their ripped‑up Gwar concert tickets. The three versions of the game share only this basic premise of ticket hunting.

The core objective is to locate the scattered ticket pieces while also gathering cash to afford the Gwar show, turning the goofy quest into a simple money‑finding mission. Players must explore the town, collect the torn tickets, and collect enough money for the concert. Success means the duo finally gets to see Gwar live.
