Summary
Zero Divide 2: The Secret Wish feels like a visual overhaul of the original robot brawler. The PlayStation version runs at 60 fps, sporting higher‑resolution textures and more refined polygon models that make each mech stand out. Alongside the returning eight fighters, the roster expands with Pixel—a nurse‑styled bot, Cancer the crab‑like menace, plus newcomers Nox and Eve, each adding their own flair. The arenas break away from the plain squares of the first game, offering fully walled chambers and low barriers that enable juggle‑offs and ring‑out tactics, while rounds are trimmed for faster bursts of action and armor pieces shatter more easily. Critics weren’t entirely convinced; British reviewers called it outdated next to Tekken 3, and a German retrospective dubbed the graphics and combat “unspectacular,” though Famitsu still handed it a respectable 31‑out‑of‑40.
