Storyline

Twisted Metal centers on an annual competition organized by the mysterious Calypso, who lures drivers with an email that simply reads “WILL YOU DRIVE?”. The event is set on Christmas Eve 2005 in Los Angeles, where twelve contestants pilot heavily modified vehicles. The battle roams six distinct arenas – an underground arena, the Warehouse District, the sprawling freeways, the glitzy streets of Beverly Hills, the suburban sprawl dubbed “Cyburbia”, and the rooftops of the city’s tallest skyscrapers. Each arena tests the drivers’ skill as they try to be the last car standing. The final showdown pits the survivor against Calypso’s enforcer, Minion. Defeating Minion earns the winner a single wish from Calypso, with no limits on price, size, or reality. The single‑player mode delivers this narrative, ending with the driver’s encounter with Calypso and the granting of the wish.
