Storyline

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! opens with the dragon planning a much‑needed vacation to Dragon Shores after his earlier battle with Gnasty Gnorc. A portal meant for Dragon Shores instead drops him in Glimmer, one of Avalar’s realms, after Elora the Faun, Hunter the Cheetah, and the Professor accidentally summon the warlock Ripto. Ripto immediately begins terrorizing Avalar’s citizens—idols come to life, eskimos are frozen in ice cubes, and a seahorse civilization loses its water.

To stop him, Spyro teams up with the locals, collecting talismans and scattered orbs across six realms. He helps Moneybags retrieve gems, assists Hunter in athletic tasks, and relies on the Professor’s inventions. After defeating Crush in Summer Forest and Gulp in Autumn Plains, Spyro confronts Ripto, who has forged a new scepter from a stolen power crystal.

With enough orbs gathered, Spyro defeats Ripto as the warlock falls into a lava lake he created, restoring peace to Avalar. Elora and her friends reactivate the portal, returning Spyro—and even Hunter—to Dragon Shores for the long‑awaited vacation, setting the stage for the next adventure.
