Summary

Storyline

Spyro the Dragon decides to take a vacation to Dragon Shores after his earlier triumph over Gnasty Gnorc, but the portal he steps through accidentally drops him in the realm of Avalar. There he meets Elora the Faun, Hunter the Cheetah, and the Professor, who explain that their portal experiment summoned the warlock Ripto and his henchmen Crush and Gulp, who have been wreaking havoc across Avalar’s realms.

To stop Ripto, Spyro journeys through Avalar’s varied lands, helping locals whose problems range from animated idols to frozen Eskimos and a water‑starved seahorse civilization, while collecting talismans, scattered orbs, and gems for Moneybags. After defeating Crush in Summer Forest and Gulp in Autumn Plains, Spyro finally confronts Ripto, who has stolen a power crystal to forge a new scepter.

In a climactic battle near a lava lake, Ripto is defeated and the portal device is repaired, allowing Spyro—and his new ally Hunter—to finally return to Dragon Shores, setting the stage for the next adventure in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!
