Summary

Silent Bomber drops you into a neon‑slick future where you control Jutah Fate, a government‑engineered bomb specialist. The core loop is all about planting and detonating explosives—either by dropping them where you stand or launching them with a lock‑on reticle that sticks to enemies, letting you chain explosions for massive point bonuses. As you hunt down hidden E‑Chips, you can raise the bomb limit, extend the planting hologram’s range, and boost your durability, turning each level into a tighter puzzle of timing and placement. The game spices things up with "material liquids" like napalm, gravity wells, and paralysis bombs, each adding unique effects and extra damage against specific enemy types, and they can be stacked just like regular explosives. Across 14 stages you’ll face off against the hulking space dreadnought Dante’s defenses, culminating in boss battles that demand precise bomb choreography. Critics loved the fresh take on top‑down action, with scores hovering around 8/10 from major outlets and an 81% aggregate on GameRankings, praising its challenging yet accessible controls and the satisfying blast‑centric gameplay.

Storyline

Silent Bomber opens with Jutah Fate, a war‑criminal engineered as a weapon, being conscripted by his home world Hornet for a covert strike against the space cruiser Dante, which threatens the planet. He is joined by political criminal Benoit Manderubrot, spy Micino Tifone, escape‑artist John Loss, and their commander, CO Annri Ohara.

When their ship is shot down by Dante’s anti‑aircraft fire, the team lands unharmed but Jutah becomes separated from the group. As he dismantles various sections of the cruiser, a tentative romance blossoms between him and Annri.

Reaching the bridge, Jutah discovers the crew slaughtered by the ship’s own defenses. A holographic Benoit admits he killed the crew, seized control of Dante, and still intends to annihilate Hornet. After refusing to join him, Jutah is ejected into space but rescued by his teammates as Benoit seals the vessel.

Jutah breaks back in, destroys Dante’s powerful cannon and confronts Benoit, now fused with the ship’s AI. The final battle ends with Benoit activating the self‑destruct sequence; Jutah’s escape route is blocked, forcing the others to abandon him. The game concludes three years later with Jutah visiting Annri at her home.
