Summary
Rugrats: Studio Tour drops you into a chaotic Hollywood backlot where the babies scramble for keys and the elusive Dil. You can bounce around four big sets – Diapies of Thunder, Captain Cookies, Lazy Saddles and Outside Space – each packed with its own obstacles, from pirate mini‑golf to alien‑filled corridors. The game lets you jump into the shoes of Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, and even Angelica, and up to four friends can tag‑team in multiplayer. Collecting coins, chocolate milk, Reptar bars and a mish‑mash of oddball items earns you the keys needed to open the locked door that reveals three bonus scenes: Shirley‑Lock Holmes, Okey Dokey Jones, and Reptar Park. Although the control scheme felt a bit clunky at launch, the mix of sound effects, voiceovers and varied level designs earned the title a cult‑status nod. A 2026 re‑release in the Rugrats Retro Rewind Collection promises to let a new generation explore the studio chaos.
Storyline
In Rugrats: Studio Tour, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Angelica, Susie and the baby Dil slip away from the adults during a field trip to a movie studio. A distracted security guard accidentally locks Dil inside an adventure‑film set and misplaces the keys to the security door. The gang must wander through various film sets, searching for the missing keys before Dil gets hurt by the set’s props. When they finally unlock the door, three bonus stages open. In Shirley‑Lock Holmes, Angelica dons a detective’s hat, gathers four green keys around a spooky graveyard and uses moving platforms to reach the mansion’s upstairs door. Okey Dokey Jones puts Tommy in a side‑scrolling run‑and‑jump course that riffs on Indiana Jones, playing like the Zero Gees minigame but without the zapper or booster jump. The last stage, Reptar Park, spoofs Jurassic Park; players steer a Reptar Wagon as the crew joins in three waves—Tommy and Angelica first, then Phil and Lil, and finally Chuckie and Susie—before a final cutscene wraps up the adventure.
