Storyline

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis follows former S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine on September 28, 1998, just 24 hours before the events of Resident Evil 2. The T‑virus has turned most of Raccoon City’s population into flesh‑eating zombies, and Jill must fight her way toward the police department while being hunted by a new bio‑organic weapon, the Nemesis‑T Type, which is programmed to eliminate surviving S.T.A.R.S. members. Along the way she encounters fellow U.B.C.S. operatives Carlos Oliveira, Mikhail Victor and Nikolai Zinoviev, learns that a rescue helicopter can be summoned by ringing the Clock Tower bell, and watches Mikhail sacrifice himself to crash a cable car into the tower’s courtyard.

Jill successfully rings the bell, but Nemesis destroys the helicopter and infects her with the T‑virus. Carlos rescues her, finds a vaccine in a nearby Umbrella hospital three days later, and administers it, saving Jill’s life. After recovering, Jill heads to Raccoon Park, confronts the Gravedigger worm, and discovers that the U.S. government plans to launch a thermobaric missile to eradicate the outbreak.

Back at an abandoned Umbrella factory, Jill learns the missile strike has begun and must face Nemesis one final time. With the aid of a prototype railgun she defeats the creature and escapes the city via helicopter, either her own or with help from Barry Burton if Nikolai has stolen the chopper.
