Summary
The PlayStation version of PO'ed drops you onto a quirky alien planet where you scramble to survive 26 open‑world levels. Armed with off‑beat firepower—a frying pan, a drill, and some sci‑fi gizmos—you’ll blast hordes of bizarre aliens while solving switch puzzles and navigating platform challenges. The jet pack is your most flexible tool, letting you rocket up and down by rhythmically tapping the jump button, but its fuel is limited, so you must balance soaring maneuvers with foot‑based exploration.
Originally a spare‑time project by Any Channel, a team of ex‑Sun Microsystems engineers, PO'ed tried to steer clear of the claustrophobic corridors of Doom and Marathon. Though critics praised its weirdly detailed graphics, inventive level layouts, and humor‑tinged weapons, many found the novelty wore thin, labeling it a decent but unremarkable shooter that still managed to stand out for its eccentric charm.
Storyline
In the quirky title Chef’s Space Adventure, a culinary‑trained astronaut finds his spacecraft wrecked on a bizarre alien planet. Stranded among strange flora and hostile fauna, he must scavenge parts, cook up improvised tools, and navigate treacherous terrain. Each step brings him closer to repairing his ship and blasting off back to Earth.
