Summary
I love slipping into the snout of Ralph Wolf in Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider, where every level feels like a slapstick heist. The game mixes classic AC ME contraptions—rocket packs, dynamite, and quirky combos like a perfume‑scented fan—to solve platforming puzzles and quietly lift a sheep past the ever‑watchful Sam Sheepdog. A clever on‑screen icon shows Sam’s line of sight: green means safe, orange warns of noisy trouble, and red triggers a frantic chase that forces you to dash for cover behind bushes or a weak bridge. Timing and lettuce bait add another layer of strategy as you coax the flock away.
Critics gave it a respectable mid‑70s score on GameRankings and a 72 on Metacritic, noting its charm and challenging stealth mechanics, making it a memorable, if mixed, entry for retro platform‑puzzle fans.
Storyline
In Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider, Ralph Wolf finishes his shift and settles in for TV when Daffy Duck bursts in, announcing that Ralph is the newest contestant on the game show “Sheep, Dog, and Wolf” – Daffy’s tongue‑in‑cheek version of “Who Wants to Be a Sheep Stealer.” The challenge forces Ralph to pilfer sheep from Sam Sheepdog across a series of wacky locations, all while keeping the flock unharmed. Along the way he bumps into a parade of familiar faces—Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Gossamer, Toro and even the Road Runner—each adding a fresh obstacle. After finally snatching the entire herd, Marvin the Martian hijacks the broadcast, dragging Ralph to Planet X to retrieve scattered Martians caused by a wayward sheep launch. Ralph succeeds, returns home, only for the victorious sheep to reveal itself as Sam in disguise, and the alarm clock snaps Ralph awake, showing the whole caper was just a dream.
