Summary

Loaded is a gritty top‑down shooter that drops you into the shoes of one of six bizarre characters – from a psychotic clown to a massive baby – each with their own twisted flair. Missions start with a brief FMV briefing, then you hack, slash and loot through fifteen worlds, using the R2/L2 zoom to shift perspective as you hunt enemies, find keycards and collect power‑ups. The game’s style mixes macabre humor and over‑the‑top gore, a vibe lifted straight from its comic‑book roots with contributions from Garth Ennis, Greg Staples and other DC/Vertigo artists. A two‑player mode lets friends team up for co‑op carnage, while the soundtrack boasts 21 original tracks that even double as a playable audio CD.

Storyline

Loaded thrusts players onto the prison planet Raulf, ruled by the deranged former catering officer F.U.B. After being discharged for serving his own legs as food, he replaced them with hydraulic prosthetics, adopted a flamboyant look, and became the warden. Six psychotic criminals—Mamma, Fwank, Bounca, Vox, Butch and Cap'n Hands—have been framed by F.U.B. and sentenced to Raulf.
Each character brings a wild arsenal: Mamma shouts only "mamma" while firing a plasma gun and Ripple Grenade; Fwank, a clown‑like figure, wields a teddy‑bear cannon with Homing Teddies; Bounca uses a missile launcher and Frag Missiles; Vox, a female DJ, swings a Hail Flail and Sonic Blast; Butch dresses in women’s clothes, spraying flame and an Explosive Ring; and Cap'n Hands, a pirate‑styled bounty hunter, fires flintlocks and a Vortex Bomb.
The player can control one or two of these maniacs, break out of Raulf, and pursue F.U.B. across bizarre worlds. He has built a matter‑manipulating machine that can open dimensional doorways and threatens to hold the universe for ransom. The odyssey culminates in a bloody showdown to destroy the device and end his reign.
