The player‑controlled hero, a silent, gender‑neutral protagonist, is tasked with reviving the world’s mana and restoring the tree.

Fa'Diel is inhabited by a diverse cast of beings: humans, faeries, demons, the jewel‑hearted Jumi, plant‑like Sproutlings and Flowerlings, miner bears called Dudbears, shadowy Shadoles, plus numerous anthropomorphic animals, objects and classic Mana monsters such as Rabites, Chobin Hoods and Goblins.

The story is divided into three main quest arcs plus a final arc. The first arc follows the persecuted Jumi, focusing on the knight Elazul and the Guardian Pearl as they fend off jewel hunters.
